The nation’s first commercial hydrokinetic turbine, which harnesses the power from moving water without the construction of a dam, has splashed into the waters of the Mississippi River near Hastings, Minnesota.

The wreck of a World War I German submarine is to be moved because it is a danger to shipping off Dover. The U-boat, which has been in the Dover Strait since 1918, is 23.5m (77ft) below the surface, which does not leave enough clearance for modern ships.
