    First of all diving is not as easily accessible and the waters temperature are really the first two changes everyone notices. But I actually like the water in the midwest. You get to see what is living in the waters that are local. The challenges visibility, colder water, thermoclines, and access make for better divers in my opinion. Although a lot of the diving we do around here has no currents, the other difficulties local divers face can be challenging. But if a diver can dive well locally in low vis and cold water on the face (u know where the hood doesnt touch) i believe most dives in the comfort zone of the individual in the gulf would be relatively enjoying. At least that is the experiences I have had between the two. Good question and comment Jason.
